Being an Advantage Business Angels Investor has many benefits. These include the following:

Our rigorous screening process means you will only be presented with high-quality, high-growth opportunities. You get to pick from a set of exciting – and potentially very profitable – investment options.

You benefit from an enviable deal flow (with no time-wasters)

We carefully review every application we receive. Our rigorous selection quickly process roots out unsuitable companies – and any time-wasters.

For every 1000 application forms we get, Advantage Business Angels typically select only 100 to go forward to the next stage of the funding process. Of this 100, only a small percentage make it to the pitch stage.

We always make sure applicants are fully prepared before they pitch. That’s why we help them write an Investment Bulletin for you.

This two-page document sums up the applicant company’s valuation, strategy and critical business issues. It gives you the background and data you need to make an informed investment decision.

You are potentially eligible for tax relief on your investments – win or lose

The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) can provide tax benefits, whether your investment succeeds or fails. In summary:

If your investment is successful:

  • You get an immediate 30% repayment on the amount you invested
  • Capital gains are taxed at NIL%
  • Inheritance tax is at NIL% if you invest in your children’s names

If your investment is unsuccessful:

  • A further tax deduction of up to 50% of your net investment is available

We deliberately limit our membership to high net worth and sophisticated investors. By keeping numbers small, our team can focus on giving you the best potential deals, and the highest levels of care and attention.

As an investor with Advantage Business Angels, you choose how we communicate with you. Our service combines traditional face-to-face meetings with modern email updates and social media, including LinkedIn and Twitter. You can even talk to us by Skype or FaceTime if you like.

Often our investors act together in Groups, and tend to live in the UK. However, we have extensive telephone/email/videoconferencing contact with business angel investors who:

  • Prefer to work individually
  • Are based overseas in tax havens
